Welcome!

Hello

I thought I would add a little more about me and my journey to where I am today.

In 2013 I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology, I was unsure what I wanted to do but knew I liked people and enjoyed food. So therefore applied and was accepted onto a Masters in Nutrition at Kings College London. I thoroughly enjoyed the year and learnt an awful lot, but felt that I was missing the interacting with people aspect therefore I continued and studied Dietetics (Postgraduate diploma) also at Kings.

In 2016 I graduated and started work in the NHS as a registered dietitian. Since then I have worked in a number of clinical areas including intensive care, weight management, surgery, diabetes, malnutrition support and cancer care. I have worked in London, Liverpool and Bristol. An 18 month stint in intensive care at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic was fast paced and certainly a big introduction to critical care life. I am currently working as a specialist oncology dietitian and have over 3 years experience in oncology. I work across the treatment pathway from optimising clients pre and post treatment to end of life support. I am also on the Medical Advisory Board for Ovacome, an ovarian cancer charity.

In 2019, whilst working in the NHS I completed a postgraduate certificate in Sports Nutrition at St Marys University Twickenham. I have always been passionate about sports and wanted to further my knowledge in this area. I am now an accredited sports dietitian (Graduate member on the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register). This course provided me with a wealth of experience and understanding about the balance of nutrition and hydration for health, well-being and sports performance. I am here to help people improve their sporting performance (from amateurs to professionals).

I have always been keen on participating in sports since school and tried a number of sports along the way. I can often be found running, from participating in the local weekly parkrun to ultramarathons. I am also a keen cyclist, skier and surfer.

I also work as the Lead Dietitian for Nutritank. Nutritank is an innovative information hub for food, nutrition and lifestyle medicine. It is promoting the need for greater education in medical training around nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

I set up Rachel White Nutrition in 2021 to support clients (athletes and non sports) with all their nutrition concerns, questions and goals.
